The Ultimate Spring Break Wish List

There are a few things I am keeping my eye out for this Spring/Summer…

You may be thinking, “Maddie, it’s January. It’s freezing. Why are you thinking about Spring and Summer already?”

Well….. I’m already in a Spring Break State of Mind! This Spring I’ll be traveling Europe for a MONTH during the break between Winter and Spring school here in England. I don’t have everything planned out, but I know that Paris, London, Rome, Venice, and Barcelona are on the “To Travel To” list. I’m not 100% sure where these wonderful cities will fit into the month, but I am SO excited to travel the world and start filling my passport with stamps!

There are a few things that I am LOVING and really want to add to my closet this season though and I thought I would let you in on the list.

#1) A Seersucker Dress
Source

I don’t have a specific style I’m looking for, other than a classy cut that isn’t too short. I love the look of either of these dresses that I pulled from Pinterest. There’s just something super cute, feminine and “southern belle” about a seersucker dress that I can’t get over. It would be so easy to dress up or dress down too!
#2) This White Jacket – CAbi
Source
CAbi just released their Spring/Summer 2014, and I’m obsessed with so many pieces. I already sent my mom an email saying I’d like to order two of everything. I haven’t seen the line in person since I’m away at school, but I was able to look at the clothing online.
This white jacket is so pretty. It looks like a sporty, yet somewhat dressy version of a classic Coco Chanel coat and I think it would be really versatile in the many ways you can wear it! Online it says it’s a cotton bouclee fabric. I think the lace on the shoulder area is very on trend without being overly trendy and I’m a sucker for exposed zippers.
#3) Band T-Shirts… For bands I actually listen to…
Source

I have been wanting some band t-shirts lately ever since I saw my roommates rocking Rolling Stones and Beatles shirts… While I’ve been out and about I’ve noticed a bunch of different rock and roll shirts that are available in the marketplace… Except, I’m not usually the girl who will sit and listen to a lot of rock and roll. (Don’t get me wrong though, I do love some AC/DC every once in a while…)
I figured if I was going to branch out into the band shirt realm of fashion I should actually get shirts for artists and bands that I listen to… First on the list? Mumford and Sons & The Lumineers. (Oh yes… I’m THATperson…) I’d love to find a Lorde shirt or Brady Toops… Don’t know who Brady Toops is? Look him up on iTunes. You’ll thank me later.
#4) Shirt Dresses – Specifically this one from CAbi
Source
I have two dresses like this from last summers CAbi line and they are the best dresses ever. I can just picture myself strolling around Paris or leisurely walking on the beaches of Santorini in this dress with my sandals in hand.
They are so nice because they’re an appropriate length, cover your shoulders so you’re okay if you are going into any churches in Europe (often your shoulders need to be covered) and if it’s particularly sunny outside your shoulders won’t get burned… They’re also a good weight! They aren’t see-through, are cool and breezy and can easily be layered under a sweater or summer jacket if the evenings get cool. Are you sold on this dress yet? I sure am!
#5) Anthropology Inspired Reversible Skirt – Once again CAbi 😉
Source
I promise this isn’t an advertisement for CAbi… I just LOVE their clothing since it fits so well and is so well made. I have a pair of jeans by them that I’ve had for probably four years and still look like new… Moving on!
This skirt! How precious is this? The amazing thing about this skirt is that it’s not just one skirt… It’s TWO! I’m all about piece of clothing that can be worn multiple ways *cough* see blog post with the multi-topper here *cough* Plus, while traveling space is usually an issue so having a 2-in-1 skirt is awesome. I can already think of a bunch of outfit combinations with only a few extra blouses!
I bet you could even pull up this skirt and wear it as a top with some cute skinny jeans and a cardigan thrown over it!
#6) This shirt… Yes it’s CAbi, you don’t even need to ask!
Source
I love love love sheer shirts because they are the perfect pieces to wear all year round. I can picture this worn with my new leather pants for fall, with my black skinny jeans and a fuzzy infinity scarf in the Winter, tucked into a flouncy white skirt for Spring, or worn as a swimsuit cover up while going to and from the pool or beach this summer/spring break!

#7) The Perfect Sunnies
Source
I am CONSTANTLY losing my sunglasses. I think it’s so sad because the last three pair I owned were some of my FAVORITE sunnies I’ve ever owned… Technically I didn’t lose the last two though. Before I left for school my dad had me clean out my car (so he could sell it :(((( ) and I tossed two pair in the bag of things I wanted to save. (That and about 20 cds, a few iPhone accessories and one of my favorite summer jackets) Well my dad mixed up the bag of things I wanted to save and the bag of stuff I asked him to bring to Goodwill… Yeah. I’m so sad.
I had finally found a pair of aviators that looked good on me, and I also had a huge over sized “Old Hollywood” style pair. (Think Mary Kate and Ashley meets Jackie O) I am now on a mission to find a new pair (or a few new pair)…. Wish me luck!
#8) A Cute Passport Case
Source
Source
There’s something rather blasé about just a plain passport, and I think it would be so cute to have a passport cover that’s just as exciting on the outside as my passport (with all its new stamps) is on the inside!
#9) Hair Bows
Source
I know how to make them myself and I might just order the supplies off of Amazon to make a few more. Even if your hair looks awful, you can toss it up in a top knot or quick whip together a side braid then finish it off with a bow and you’re sure to get a few gals ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the bow. (Hint: it distracts from the rats nest of hair) If I don’t pick up the supplies to make them myself, I can pick some up at Primark!
#10) Plain Jean Jacket
Source
You may be asking yourself, “What’s so special about a plain jean jacket?” Well, I already have a super cute jean jacket that has a bunch of multi-color panels on it, but there’s something super awesome about an old broken jean jacket. CAbi has a great darker wash jean jacket this summer that I can picture becoming my future “old broken in jean jacket” If I don’t end up with that jacket specifically I’ll keep my eye open for one in a charity shop or vintage store over here. I love seeing how jean jackets get worn and the colors fade in different areas. Oh gosh, I’ll stop now… I’m getting nostalgic over denim.
#11) Keds

I think Keds are some of the cutest shoes ever. There’s something about them that screams “SUMMER!!!” to me! I love how they look paired with skinnies, a skirt, a dress, shorts… Just about anything! I don’t even care what color/pattern they are!
#12) Floppy Sun Hat
Source

A while back I purchased a big floppy sun hat from Target in the $1 Spot. I was able to get so much use out of it while out by my pool during the summer. Since it was just a cheap hat though it wasn’t great quality so I’m in need of a new one. How cute would it be to be walking around Barcelona in a huge floppy hat to keep the Spanish sun out of my eyes?
#13) Men’s Button Down Shirts
Source
Source
I think the look of borrowing from the boys is classic. I think a white and blue stripe shirt would look so cute tucked into the pink shorts I wore in a post last summer. Just like the mesh button down shirt I mentioned above it would look so cute poolside as a quick and easy cover up. Plus, tying it up over a dress would give an effortlessly pulled together look that could be rocked around the world 😉
#14) Fold-able Water Bottle
Source
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of my Camelbak water bottle, but it’s really bulky and not very travel friendly. (Although it would be nice to get the filter attachment while in different countries!) I’ve seen a few cute fold-able water bottles though and I think that would be super convenient so you can just empty it and it’s as flat as a piece of paper when you’re not using it. I’ll have to look it up on Amazon to see if I can find a cute pattern!
 #15) Stud Earrings
Source
I pretty much only wear stud (also known as post) earrings. Since my ears weren’t the main thing I was thinking about when I was packing I only have one pair of earrings along and I really need a few pair to switch between. I will be on the look out for a pair of simple gold pair and I also want to find a pair of pearl earrings. I had a beautiful pair of pearl earrings but one of the studs went missing and I am so sad!Maybe I’ll find an antique pair at a market in Paris perhaps?
#16) Polaroid Camera
Source
I know I just purchased a gorgeous Nikon last summer, but I have been wanting a Polaroid Camera for ages now! I think it would be SO fun to be able to take instant snapshots over break that would have a playful vintage vibe about them!
#17) Knuckle Rings – In Gold
Source
I wasn’t a huge fan of knuckle rings when I first saw them but they are growing on me and I think they are super cute. I love more dainty jewelry especially when it’s layered so I think that’s why I like knuckle rings. I’ve had my eye on a few different ones on Pinterest that I may order but if I find some while traveling I’ll probably grab those instead.
Well if you made it to the end of the list… Kudos to you.
What are some of your favorite trends for Spring?
Is there anything you have on a wishlist?
Is yours as extensive as mine?

xoxo,
Maddie
