Hey there friends,
A few weeks ago I had the chance to go visit the new offices of Au Naturale cosmetics for their grand opening! Their new space is incredibly gorgeous and I’m super jealous, maybe one day when I have my own blogging empire I can offices as cool as theirs. But enough about that, let’s talk about their product.
Founder of Au Naturale Ashley Prange was having trouble finding products that aligned with her principles and weren’t filled with preservatives and other nasty chemicals. She noticed a huge gap in the market when it came to organic, vegan, cruelty free, USA made cosmetics, so she did what any other brilliant, determined and creative young woman would do.
She made her own.
Eventually she began selling it, and it’s become a huge hit! Women everywhere are falling in love with her products because not only are they great, they stand for some pretty great things too.
I’ll be the first to tell you, I am not vegan. (I like my steak thank you very much) I don’t really care about organic food (double stuf oreos ladies and gentlemen? Yes.)
I grew up in a small business, and I love supporting small businesses. The fact that she makes her products everyday here in the US really is what sold me on the product.
I purchased 3 pieces of makeup that evening to give a test drive and share my thoughts with you.
First up. Highlighter Stick.
I have been trying to make my makeup routine as simple as possible this summer, a bit of mascara & filled in brows, and to top it off I’ve been using this. If you want to look like you have a dewy summer glow this is the product you need. I love love love this highlighter stick! I put a little bit on my cheek bones, and other areas I want to highlight and it gives a gorgeous glow!
This product I was most excited about. I love finding a new lip color, and have been looking for a nude that doesn’t make me look like a corpse bride. I was so sad when I didn’t love the texture of the lipstick, it was a bit “stiff'” and difficult to transfer the color onto my lip. It felt more like trying to put a crayon on my lips than a lipstick. I love the color SO much though, so I’ve taken to using a blow-dryer to melt the tip just a little so I can put it on easier. I still love this product, it just wasn’t my favorite out of the batch.

I desperately needed a new powder color for summer, since I get a tiny bit tan (it’s barely noticeable, and my white legs still blind the unsuspecting passerby) I had been using Clinique for the longest time and I still love my pressed powder from them! But this loose powder is so pretty! It gives you coverage without looking like you have a face full of makeup. (We all have that one friend who wears too much face makeup) The coverage is so great, yet subtle, I’ve been able to use it as a lightweight concealer underneath my eyes when I have dark circles! I highly recommend this product if you’re in the market for a new face powder!
So that’s it! That’s my lovely review on the au Naturale makeup products I recently purchased! If you guys want me to give you more reviews of products like this let me know! I never considered myself a “beauty blogger” but I don’t see why I can’t let y’all know what’s in my makeup bag!
Hope you all have a great rest of the week!
