I wanted to share a little bit about my weekend adventure from the beginning of November!
On Thursday, November 5th, I received a text from my mom wishing me luck in my toughest class of the day, a few hours prior the teacher emailed us and told us due to a last minute issue class would be cancelled. I excitedly told my mom that I only had two classes that day and would be finished by 12:30-ish.
She was just as excited as I was and I could hear her hurriedly typing into her iPad… “Can you make it to Minneapolis by 3:00 or so?” She asked.
“Yeah…? I can, I don’t know why I would need to, but I can.” I replied.
“Well, I’m looking at a flight that leaves at 4:30… If you could make it onto that flight you could be in Orlando with dad and I by… Umm Midnight… Would you be up for that?”
I quickly sent a message to my friends who I had weekend plans with, texted my Little to ask if she was okay if I postponed our Chipotle date until later in the week, and made sure I didn’t have any major assignments due over the weekend.
My friends were okay with me skipping out on my plans, and my sweet, precious, Little said she wouldn’t hold it against me… Because… Florida…
My mom booked me on the 4:30 flight, I hurriedly packed whatever warm-weather-clothing I still had at school, drove to Minneapolis and hopped on the plane to Orlando for a long weekend!
I had an absolute blast. Laying out by the pool was exactly what I needed after midterms, (which were both good and bad…). I ate tons of delicious food, sunned by the pool for hours, drank many Pina Coladas, caught up with a friend from Stout on his day off who is working at Disney, went mini golfing and came un under par (which never happens!), spent the evening at Disney Springs, (formerly known as Downtown Disney) spontaneously joined a lip sync battle AND WON, (in front of 2000 people no less!) watched a horrible Packer game, gave up on watching said Packer game and went to the pool instead… SO MANY ADVENTURES IN JUST A FEW SHORT DAYS!
I’m inserting all the photos I took and posted on Instagram so you can live vicariously through me.
I am SO incredibly thankful for such amazing parents who decided last minute I needed a long weekend down in Orlando with them! I am so blessed to have them in my life. It’s moments like these that I will look back on and be grinning from ear to ear as I remember the trip.
So Mom & Dad, if you’re reading this… Thank you for such an incredible weekend. It was amazing, but not as amazing as you guys.
I love you.
