Good afternoon my friends!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my instagram updates and my daily Snapchat stories while visiting Cristian and his family out in Colorado. If you’re not following me on Snapchat my username is maddieweinstein – believe me, my stories are hilarious. A few days ago we went and explored a beautiful mountain area, except the drawback was that it was pretty much ALL uphill.
If you know me, you know that I am not outdoorsy at all. So climbing up a steep hill, that was covered in snow, OUTSIDE, wasn’t exactly at the top of my to do list.
Luckily I brought my camera along so I was able to get some really awesome photos of Cristian and his siblings as they romped around enjoying all the snow.
There was this incredible old truck that was parked on a plateau. I loved the color of it!
I convinced Cristian’s brother Sebastian to take a few photos of Cristian and I, not bad for his first time holding a Nikon huh? I think we may have a future photographer on our hands!
Cristian wanted to get me something I really wanted and could use for Christmas this year, so he purchased me a new Nikon lens. I decided on the 50mm 1.8, and I am SO in love with it. I’ve really enjoyed experimenting taking photos. Plus, those gorgeous bokeh backgrounds are to die for.
Here’s another photo of the truck, because I think it’s so cool.
I’m still learning how to use my new lens, but I’m really excited to start taking more outfit photos with it. I think it will help capture the details really well! Also, this snow was so fresh and clean… All I want to do is make snow ice cream with it! If you ever want to make some, here’s my favorite recipe from Lilikoi Joy! Her recipe is so easy and delicious.
Look at this goon. I love the smile of pure joy on his face! All the kids had so much fun playing that day!
Moments later his older brother tackled him into a snow bank. Don’t worry, everyone was unharmed. I am going to miss these kiddos SO much when I head back to Wisconsin. They bring me so much joy and happiness, and there is never a dull moment when they’re around.
Another thing I’m going to miss are the views. They are simply breathtaking. As I mentioned above, I’m not much of an outdoorsy person… But I would gladly take a quick hike to snap some photos. I absolutely love Colorado, and I hope that I’ll be back soon.
I’m so thankful that I get to visit my amazing future-in-laws, they’re the best a girl could ask for. I’m so excited to be apart of their family one day!
Have you done anything exciting over break?
I’ll be heading to Chicago with a few of my bridesmaids next week to go wedding dress shopping *EEK!* and then I’ll be flying to San Diego to work for cabi’s Spring ’16 fashion show! I cannot wait to be out in Cali with the amazing people from cabi. Everyone from the models, to the designers, to the stage crew, are the most incredibly kind and wonderful people you will ever meet.
I hope you all are having a lovely winter break, make sure you drink lots of cocoa to stay warm!
