Did I Say Yes To The Dress?

Hello friends!
I figured it was about time that I shared photos from going wedding dress shopping last month!
I went to three different stores, Nordstrom, J Crew, and BHLDN.
I fell in love with a dress at every single place, and because of that I still haven’t made a choice on which one I’m going with yet.  – p.s. I’m only sharing photos of dresses I’m 100% not going with, that way if Cristian happens to be snooping he won’t see anything! But they are all dresses that I thought were beautiful! – So to answer the question in the post title, no I have not officially said yes to the dress. – If you’re wondering why the photos aren’t super crisp, it’s because they’re off an iPhone instead of my Nikon.
One of the first dresses I tried on was this gorgeous Rosa Clara dress, it was so pretty, and I loved the back detail as well as the pockets! The problem is, I’m not even 5’1, so the dress overwhelmed me a lot. The fabric was too heavy for a June wedding as well. Oh to be 5’8. I cannot sing the praises of the Nordstrom Bridal Suite enough, the gal who helped me out was awesome, and was able to get me out of my comfort zone and into a dress I adored.

I came across this gorgeous Marchesa dress on the sample rack. I was completely against a huge ballgown because I didn’t want to look like a little girl dressed up like a princess, it was this dress that made me reconsider that choice. I’ve never tried on a dress that was so lightweight and flowy, I actually felt like a Disney Princess, (but in the best, and most grown up way possible.)
If it wasn’t for the fact that wearing a bra for my wedding day is a deal breaker, I would have run straight out of the store with this dress. The sheer back detail and buttons were so delicate, I absolutely loved it! I am so jealous of the girls that can get away with wearing this dress. I think it’s so funny that wedding dresses are so delicate, but then they use huge clips like this to cinch it in.
If you follow my Instagram you may have seen the sneak peek of this gorgeous lace. Amsale, you are a mastermind of bridal dresses. I had sworn off both lace and tulle, but the gal assisting me insisted I try it just because. I promised myself that I would never cry, I didn’t think I was the kind of person who would cry when they found “the dress” but this was the first time that I actually sobbed when trying on a dress. I think the price tag had something to do with it too… It was so far out of my price range, but it was lovely trying on such a gorgeous dress!
Next stop: J Crew. The guy who assisted me was phenomenal, and again, he pushed me out of my comfort zone in a good way. I tried on dresses that I never imagined I would like, and they looked incredible. Like this one above. 100% silk chiffon, a gorgeous ivory color, the perfect straps, and lovely neckline. It reminded me of a grecian goddess, and it made me feel like one too.
This one was a whole lot of lace, don’t get me wrong it was stunning, but it overwhelmed me so much. But the hem, of my gosh, it was so beautiful… Look at that scalloping! The only issue with trying on dresses at J Crew was that the dressing rooms were so cold because it was one of the coldest days of the month. (-17 degrees, oh so lovely) It didn’t help that I had just come down with a cold too, but I powered through the day and made it to the next appointment.
Our final stop was BHLDN. The dresses were gorgeous and the store was just as beautiful. I almost enjoyed looking at all of the Bridesmaid dresses they stocked more than all the gorgeous gowns they had. I wish I had more time to try on dresses, they were pretty strict with the 1-hour-appointments, which was understandable because they were busy, but I would have loved an extra few minutes on either end. We didn’t get into the dressing room until 10 minutes after my appointment started, personally I think if you’re so tightly scheduled you should be in the room trying on your first dress at the time you’re scheduled for. But perhaps that’s my one bridezilla moment I’m allowing myself during the wedding planning process… Anyway, it was a lovely store and there’s a VERY good chance you will see me in a dress from this store in BHLDN!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some sneak peeks of the wedding dresses I tried on! I know that I was pleasantly surprised with the dresses I fell in love with and I cannot wait to *hopefully* go back and try on the final contenders and make a choice!
Is anyone else SUPER excited that Spring Break is right around the corner? Who has plans, where are you going? I’m heading to Orlando on a road trip with my mom and friend Joy (one of my bridesmaids, we spring-breaked together in Europe a few years ago!) and I am super excited! Follow me on Bloglovin’ for post updates and Instagram for pictures from Spring Break 2016!
p.s. Thanks Sami for sending me the photos! I appreciate it so much 🙂
