The days here in Wisconsin, although getting longer, are still pretty cloudy and dreary. It is making me miss the warm sun on my skin in San Diego from last month! The weather has been a little bit warmer, but with that comes the icky brown snow piles that are covered in dirt and are slowly melting away. Spring, come sooner so the snow can go away too!
I was able to do a really fun photoshoot with Katherine from Katherine Rose Photography while visiting, and I thought the fun, cheery photos might just be the perfect pick me up on these cloudy days!
Settle in for a really long post, Katie snapped SO many great photos I couldn’t narrow it down.
I met Katie through the Rising Tide Society, it’s been such a lovely group of people and I’m so thankful that I was able to join them!
While I was visiting Cristian and his family out in Denver, we took a day off from outdoorsy things and went to Nordstrom. I was so happy to shop around for a little while and while we were there I tried on a bunch of different blouses, sweaters, shirt, etc. from Topshop. I just adore the little pop up shops they have in their stores.
I fell in love with a bunch of the tops, but ended up leaving with nothing. As we were driving back home Cristian asked me why I didn’t get anything. I told him I actually really loved this sweater, and he said that I should call up the store and have it shipped since I loved it so much. Gosh, I love that guy.
While I was in Chicago wedding dress shopping I ended up leaving my sunglasses in one of the dressing rooms. My mom told me that since we didn’t have time to go back before we went home to pick them up, she would just purchase me another pair.
The day I had the photoshoot I wandered into Urban Outfitters and found a new pair that I fell in love with. My mom loved them too so that’s plus. If you’re interested in a pair I’ll have the link down in the outfit details.
I haven’t done many photoshoots in public, most of my shoots are in less populated areas… Namely Green Bay and Menomonie 😉 It was so weird that there were so many people around, but the shoot was so fun.
Katie made me feel so comfortable and her husband Christian came along. We all had a great time together and by the end of the shoot I was jumping across the sidewalk like a ridiculous gazelle. (See above photograph.)
So back to the sweater. It’s pretty awesome because it’s not JUST a sweater.
The shirt is attached. Yes. It’s built in. Life changing.
Don’t know how to put together an outfit in the morning because you pulled an all nighter studying for a bio exam that you probably failed…? Boom. Instant outfit. Just add pants. (Kinda like just add water, but pants… Because water here wouldn’t work…)
Also, here’s Christian. He’s Katie’s husband. He told me that he manages to take a photo with every client… Katie assured me that he would not sneak into any photos, but I didn’t want to break his tradition I invited him in. It was really weird because I kept talking about my Cristian… And they thought I was talking about him… So I kept saying how much I loved Cristian… Once I told them I was engaged to a guy named Cristian everything was better. Hahaha!
Of course Katie insisted on snapping a photo of my ring, and I wouldn’t say no, and since it is my favorite piece of jewelry… (I mean it IS my engagement ring…) So I had to share it with you.
I wanted her to capture a few of the details of the outfit, so I’m really glad she snapped a picture of this necklace. It was a Christmas gift from my sister, and it has M <3 C (it’s actually a heart, I just couldn’t type one.) I love it, and it’s become my new arrow necklace, I never take it off!
Oh look, there’s a photo where I’m actually wearing the sun glasses…
You can’t forget the shoes! I have these shoes in leopard print as well that was featured in a post I wrote a while back! You can read it here. The black pair are velvet and the little tassels are
bedazzled to add a little bling. They’ve always been really comfortable, but suddenly my shoes turned on me… I was wondering why my foot was stinging, and my heels were all torn up and bloody. So please excuse the band aids you can see peeking out from the heels.
Okay are you sick of me talking yet? Well good news, I’m finished. I hope you’ve enjoyed this overly long post! I’m about to start midterms so if I’m not around for a few days/week or so… That’s why. But afterwards I’m going to DISNEY so expect a lot of photos! Thank you again Katie for the gorgeous photos, I love them so much!
