I’m throwing my hat in the ring.
The choices this election are looking bleak so I thought I would give it a shot. In all reality however, I cannot run until 2032 because I won’t be over 35 until then. Stupid constitutional rules… JK I LOVE THE CONSTITUTION.
Recently I had the chance to team up with two amazing small businesses in Green Bay. Zulou & Wild Ginger. I asked if I could feature some of their clothing on my blog and they both agreed! Hooray! The outfit I’m wearing today features this amazing blazer from Zulou, it’s an adorable British brand that I cannot remember the name of. I think a blazer is a great way to transition into fall. They’re lightweight enough that you can layer them and not get too hot, you can toss them over your arm if it’s scorching out, and perfect if you’re inside and the A/C is too high.
I’m sure that if you go check on their Facebook page they will gladly let you know if you ask! It wasn’t all blue, it had some flecks of Navy in the jacket, and the inside was lined with a super fun ditzy floral print. If you take a peek at the cuffs in the photos you can see it! I am so excited to work with the two local businesses in Green Bay. I grew up in a family business, so I’ve always had an appreciation for shopping small. I know that the purchases you make really does help put food on the table sometimes, and even if Target is amazing, shopping small is always better! So if you’re in Titletown anytime soon make sure you stop into ZuLou!
Speaking of photos, I was able to team up with the ever so talented Alyssa Lentz from a.lentz photography! She was the gal who took the photos of Sami and I last year when we had our friendship photoshoot, and she will be Cristian & my wedding photographer!
She photographed my friend Maddie’s wedding (Yes, another Maddie) and I fell involve with the photos. I essentially forced friendship upon poor Alyssa. She’ll probably read this and disagree, but lets be real… I’m weird. Who would want to actually be friends with me?
The skirt I purchased at a super sketchy thrift shop in Denver. The lady had us check my purse at the front counter, and when I asked a question about a piece of clothing she eyed me like I was up to something. Either way, it’s a lovely red wool pencil skirt and I have been wanting one forever. I feel like a black pencil skirt and then one with a pop of color is always necessary in a girls closet. Plus they’re flattering on every body shape!
If it wasn’t for the fact that there will probably be a foot of snow by the time election day rolls around I would totally wear this to my polling place. When I first saw the photos I thought “I LOOK LIKE A FIRST LADY!” I feel like Jackie O would be proud. Perhaps I’ll use these as my 2032 campaign photos. Now I just need to come up with a slogan. “Puppies, lower taxes, and hot chocolate for all?” Does that sound good? “Make America fashionable again?” I feel like Donald might come after me for that one. 😉
Also, see that blouse underneath? HA! FOOLED YOU! It’s actually a romper. I just wore the skirt on top of it. If you have a cute romper that you want to wear in a few different ways toss a skirt over it and there you go! New outfit. Plus, if you get sick of the skirt, you can take it off in public, garner some wide-eyed stares, and then you’re in your romper. (Did that happen during the shoot? Not really… because we were in a field alone… Poor Alyssa got to see way too much of me.)
Well friends, I think that’s all for today. Stay tuned for more awesome outfits, from two awesome local businesses, and some awesome photos, from an awesome photographer.
